Mike Kamara

Obstetrician BHLTHSCI, BMEDSCI (HONS 1ST CLASS), MBBS (UWA), MREPMED (UNSW), FRANZCOG, FACOG

I had the privilege of growing up in a medical home learning the virtues of service from the cradle as they say. I convinced my father to let me see a caesarean delivery at 7 and I guess the rest was history. In medical school I briefly toyed with the idea of doing internal medicine but after exposure to maternity and gynaecology I knew I couldn’t really do anything else and feel fulfilled. There was just something about the amazing privilege of helping to safely bring a new live/lives into the world and the care afterwards that I knew I had to be a part of.

Laura Millar

Registered (Endorsed) Midwife BHSC (Midwifery)

I trained in New Zealand and have a Bachelor in Health Science (Midwifery). I have spent the last 10+ years in Australia working as a midwife where I extended my qualifications to become an Endorsed Midwife which enables me to provide maternity care outside of the hospital. I became a midwife because I love being Mum (plus my mum told me too!) The transition from woman to mother has been a powerful experience for me and seeded my love of midwifery. It's this passion that I can pass on to my all of my women! My ultimate goal in my career is to empower women during their maternity experience by sharing my knowledge and my expertise in pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.

Amy Bowlin

Registered (Endorsed) Midwife

My name is Amy Bowlin, I'm an Endorsed midwife, Registered nurse/ midwife and Mum of two boys based in Joondalup, WA. I aim to provide individualized maternity care and believe that maternity care should never be a “one sized fits all” approach as every family and pregnancy is different and this should be respected as a health care professional. Completing my nursing degree in 2011 I went on to specialise in fertility nursing/ theatre work providing support and guidance to women and their partners requiring additional intervention to fall pregnant successfully. Furthering my career goals, I then completed my Midwifery degree in 2015 and have worked in both private and tertiary hospital settings providing pregnancy, labour/birth and postnatal care. I have a passion for providing mental health support in the perinatal period, providing a holistic approach that supports both your physical and emotional well-being. It is my goal that no matter what your journey brings, you will feel respected and empowered throughout and that you will walk into motherhood feeling confident and supported with my guidance every step of the way. My aim is to reduce the negative stigma around perinatal mental health and normalise this by guiding parents and their infants to have strong and healthy connections, offering a safe and supportive space to do so. I am very passionate in advocating for women and providing them with relevant evidence based information so that they feel empowered and can make informed decisions. I look forward to being part of your journey and supporting you through this exciting time in your lives.
